Locks by Aurora Locksmith
FBI statistics show that 40% of residential burglaries target first floor doors, making Patio door lock an important part of the house. These doors are often targeted as they are secluded in the back and are not visible, giving the burglar more freedom and time to breach in the house.
Put good Patio Door Locks!
Latches are used to secure sliding patio doors instead of locks. A latch is a really easy target for a burglar to break through using a crow bar therefore it’s necessary to use more secure patio door locks.
- Clamp Locks – These are generally placed on the top or bottom track of the patio door. The lock is installed by drilling a whole through the door and attaching it to the lock. These are often used to keep the door open slightly. Keys are also used to secure these locks as well.
- Foot Operated Locks – These locks are placed in the bottom track only and are operated using the foot (obviously). There is a pedal that is used to secure or unleash the lock according to your particular requirement at the moment.
